I heard the other day that our Prime Minister has decided to break an election promise and not impose a carbon tax on the Australian people. I have to wonder how attacks will actually work and stop pollution in our country, I couldn't help seeing the absolute delight of the greens Minister on the steps of Parliament with our Prime Minister. Maybe I am wrong but it would seem that imposing a tax on the people for the price of carbon will push prices up here in Australia, businesses are not stupid it is common business practice that if you are being charged more for something they will pass the cost on to the consumer and that's what will happen here. So if the costs are being passed on to consumers in Australia we still have to have a light avgas and our petrol to survive to go to work and for everyday needs so in the end we have to pay. So if this is the case how dose this stop carbon pollution, I know we have to start somewhere but I do not believe putting a tax on carbon will help. These are just my thoughts if anyone has any other thoughts in regard this matter please comment.

Last night, we had the first rainstorm thunderstorm we have had a long time. I have not seen rain like this in many many years, to see roads flooded ruse of houses blown off and water running everywhere was a sight to see. As I have stated in the last post we have been a drought for the last 10 years and I can say that it is definitely over, strangely enough Queensland has had a cyclone and floods which no one has ever seen before. It would seem from what the meteorologist have been telling us we have got some of the tail end of the cyclone that hit Queensland, man it was rough.

While all we hope for now is that things will dry out enough for us to get back into the garden, that would be great

If you are living outside of Australia you may have known that Australia has been gripped by the biggest drought in history. The drought has lasted for almost 15 years and has broken only a month ago. When the drought broke we were inundated with massive floods which wiped out Queensland, if you could imagine a state the size of Europe underwater that's the damage that was done by this Flood. Here in Victoria where I live the water is still running, there is no rain but there is a phenomenal which is happening in central Victoria, where there is an inland sea inundating small townships and river side towns, with no end in sight at this time. The strange thing is, that this inland sea is 40 km wide and is still running towards the ocean over the land.this water is floodwater which came from the rains that broke the drought. The flood which is still running in Victoria will ultimately end up in the sea through South Australia. Homes have been lost, farm crops have been lost, it seems like we just can't win after 15 years of drought. Some say that the floods were caused by the greenhouse effect, but I have to say that growing up in the bush, most farmers who have been on the land are many many years used expression after there is a drought there is Flood, it seems to be a cycle. Now I'm not saying that the greenhouse effect does not exist, I believe it does, but at this time we must spare a thought that people who are doing a hard in Australia. We are being told to brace ourselves for higher food prices and profiteering, due to the lack of food production due to the floods. I cannot understand why food prices have to rise just because it is a little bit harder to get supply's. Some one is profiteering on our hardship.

Just some thoughts about the Australian floods.

I was sitting here today, thinking about writing some articles by one of the things I do not like doing is writing.
